Biya appoints new members of Higher Judicial Council.
 

Cameroon’s Head of State Paul Biya on Monday, 15 June, signed a decree appointing some members of the country’s Higher Judicial Council for a five-year-term.

They include substantive and alternate members all designated by the National Assembly, the Supreme Court and the President of the Republic.

In a second decree, Mr Minko Minko Abel, superscale legal and judicial affairs officer, is appointed Secretary General of the Higher Judicial council.

Substantive members designated by the National Assembly are Ali Mamouda, Essomba Bengono Engelbert Alain and Soppo Toute Marlyse. The alternate members are Hons. Abe Mikhael Ndra, Goni Mariam and Ngo Issi Rolande Adele.

Substantive members designated by the Supreme Court are:

 Justices Mmes Ngotty, née Mekoulou Cunegonde Christine; and Wacka, née Fofung Nabun; and Mr Manga Moukouri Isaac. Alternate members designated by the Supreme Court are Mrs Mengue ME Zomo, née Ntyam  Ondo; Messrs Njumbe  Ernest Njumbe, and Oumarou Abdou.

The substantive member designated by the President of the Republic is Mr Ekono Nna Albert, while his alternate will be Me Amadou Ali.
