Regional delegate satisfied with “zero Covid-19” in schools.

The Regional Delegate of Secondary Education for the West Region, Dr. Francois Ngabnya, says there has been serenity in learning institutions in the region since schools started on June 1, 2020. “Students and teaching staff have all shown positive response in the implementation of Government measures in the fight to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in schools,” he revealed. He said no case of infection of Covid-19 has been reported in schools in the region since classes resumed.

Ngabnya said the attitude of the students is relatively encouraging as respecting social distancing in classes, students wearing face masks and washing of hands regularly has become a practising habit among students. He was speaking to the press recently at the end of evaluation visits to public and private colleges in Mifi Division, where he expressed total satisfaction with what he saw.

However, he regretted that some students occasionally disregarded some of the preventive measures. He promised that the administration would not relent its efforts to continue with the sensitization of students to meet the objectives of overcoming the spread of COVID-19. He was happy that the participation rate in schools was equally encouraging on the part of students.
