New business platform created for youth entrepreneurs.
The building to host a newly created business platform in Yaounde for youth entrepreneurs was inaugurated last Thursday June 25.
While officiating the event, the Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Achille Basselikin III, said the platform offers a rare opportunity for entrepreneurs to get their dreams turned into reality. The centre offers mentorship facilities, image builders, and blue prints of other projects that can inspire persons transform their ideas into reality.
Officials have said the platform is “a jewel to the Cameroonian economy.” That explains why the SMEs Minister, Achille Basselikin III, said he was “quite happy to have inaugurated this centre this morning,” He added that the platform was a “remarkable achievement” to the State. The centre has come at a time when government has channeled so much energy and resources in the empowerment of start-ups. “When our partners told me about the launching of such a centre, I was very excited to come and see what has been achieved. It is going to also help our Ministry by providing a forum where start-ups and SMEs can come and be exposed to the world,” Minister Achille Basselikin III stressed. Technical partners of the business platform said dreams of beginners will be nurtured at the centre. A claim, the Minister said, falls within the framework of the development of private enterprises championed by the State. By the time this materializes, he hinted, it will contribute to realizing the Head of State’s vision of making Cameroon an emerging country by 2035.
