The Social Democratic Front-SDF appears to going down the drain. The party appears to have lost touch with the people and so some of its stalwarts are leaving it in droves.
The latest to quit the ‘sinking ship’ is Balemba George Sona, the Secretary General of the Bamusso electoral district in the Bamusso Sub-division, Ndian Division in the South West Region. He withdrew his membership over corruption and division among other common ills in the party.
On a release he signed on July 7th, 2020, he said he no longer believed that the party could fulfill the promises it had made to Cameroonians which included the implementation of, “meaningful economic and empowerment initiatives, and effect change."
The Secretary General revealed that he didnot see impact from the party in the future because; “they are too divided, too corrupt and too out of touch with the regular Cameroonians.”
According to the release signed by him, he actively subscribed, became a member and has been a part of SDF since 2011. He has been in the party for over 10 years.
Mr. Balemba revealed that joining the party was a decision he proudly took with hope. His hope was that he, “could play to start a better and stronger future for our country, a future where there will be space to participate economically, politically and socially.”
All this hope, he said, was for all the Cameroonians irrespective of race, class or residence.
