Anglophone Crisis/ Covid-19 fight: Minister Rose Mbah Acha offers glimmer of hope to PWDs,76 orphans and prison inmates.

Following the outbreak of the Anglophone crisis, scores of inhabitants of the Momo Division and Mbengwi in particular have been subjected to diverse and under-reported challenges. Amongst these many challenges have been the subjection, destruction and frustration of farming yields, a unique economic endeavour that has continually contributed to the economic power of Mbengwi, chieftown of the Momo division.
The pre-crisis era saw mass tons of maize, beans, cassava (which when locally processed serves for either water fufu or garri) palm kernel amongst others. With the 4-year conflict, many of such locals have been reduced to untold famine, hunger and hardship with dozens of under-privileged people and children.
To make good this situation worsened by the outbreak of the Covid-19 is a gesture from Rose Mbah Acha, Cameroon's minister delegate at the presidency in charge of supreme state audit.
Representing the Minister at the esplanade of the Momo S.D.O’s Office was Hon Foo Ngang Prudencia "...bearer of a goodwill message of love and charity amidst hope".
Handing over the giftd, the MP said:"......as a philanthropist, Minister Rose thought it's but very incumbent to cater for her population especially the less privileged at such defining moments".
According to humanitarian reporters, at least 40% of Anglophones in the restive North West live in acute difficult conditions and shockingly the case of persons with disabilities(PWDs),prison inmates,and orphans either affected directly or indirectly as a result of the crisis remains almost under-reported or unattended to.
Contrary to this, a ray of hope glittered on them as inmates of the Mbengwi Principal Prison, PWDs of the Christaldelphian School for the Blind and Physically challenged, House of Hope Orphanage, A Better World Children's Home and Global Frontiers Orphanage, all in Mbengwi Central Subdivision, benefitted from the show of largesse.
The gifts which comprised ( 4cartons of soap,5bags of rice,25pkts of Maggi cubes,2 anti Covid-19 buckets of 50 liters each, 3bags of salt, (2)-20liters of palm oil,106 face masks, were received by Better World Orphanage for 48 children while 28 others of House of Hope Orphanage received 3 cartons of soap,3bags of rice, packets of Maggi cubes, 2 anti Covid-19 buckets,3bags of salt,1(20liters) and 2(5liters)of palm oil and 66 face masks with similar items donated to prisoners and isolated cases of persons with disabilities.
Tayong Stanley, interim superintendent of the Mbengwi principal prison and representative of the inmates, used the opportunity to salute the gesture as he hinted the timely gifts would be well utilised.
He added within the prison confines measures had been put in place to respect physical distancing especially as Mbengwi counts over 15 infected cases in the North West region.
For her part, Tende Clara from the House of Hope Orphanage said: "We wish to thank Her Excellency Mbah Acha for her kind gesture over us. In fact, we lack words to express our gratitude to you. We are very happy to celebrate this special day with you and we pray that you will live long to see your children's children, you'll live long to make your generation proud of you. As you have given to us, may God increase your life and bless you."
A symbolic grace-filled declaration which only added to soul-searching and tears-shedding songs chanted by the motherless or and fatherless children.
The ceremony was attended by the Momo chief administrative scribe, Benoit Etaba Fouda Nicaise, amongst others.
Despite the gesture, many observers have continued to call for a ceasefire and a return to normal life which will enable the average Mbengwi man to live the life of his desires.
