Match-fixing scandal rocks Cameroon football!
FECAFOOT’s Ethics Committee with support from FIFA to hear 60 persons.
The halting of Cameroon’s domestic football championships on 28 March over the Covod-19 pandemic was seen as a means of forestalling any disputes that might arise from clubs that felt cheated by match homologation decisions.

Kick442.com-Cameroon reports that the Ethics Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT,will begin examining the case of around sixty (60) persons [ranging from match officials, players, Club administrators amongst others] , who have been found suspicious of match-fixing during the 2019/2020 season.
According to a Tweet on the official handle of the football house, the hearings which will receive support from FIFA were to take place on July 7 at the headquarters of the federation in Tsinga,Yaoundé.
FECAFOOT President, Seidou Mbombo Njoya mentioned in a tweet,he will be following developments of the hearings with great attention, we gathered.
“I will follow with great attention the hearings of the Ethics Committee of @FecafootOfficie, assisted by the Integrity Officer, for suspicious match-fixing on certain matches of the 2019-2020 season. @fifacom_fr will supports us in promoting sports ethics,” his tweet read.
The 2019/2020 football season was abandoned due to threats from Covid-19, with FECAFOOT citing public health as a major priority at the time. The domestic championships were halted in March, after 28 match days in the top tier and 23 of the second tier Championship plus four games left in the Women’s competition.
PWD Bamenda, Astres of Douala and Louvres Minproff were proclaimed champions of the League one, two and female championship respectively.
