Decentralization ministry-commissioned officials tasked to produce results.

The Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development, Georges Elanga Obam, has called on the three newly appointed officials of the ministry to adopt working methods that are aimed at achieving effectiveness, performance and whose ultimate goal is to get the required results.

 He spoke on July 9, 2020 as he officially commissioned the officials into their functions. The three officials were appointed by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute in decree No. 2020/210/PM of 29 May 2020. They included Nfor Catherine Mugha epse Essoh, Senior Civil Administrator appointed Inspector N° 1; Beti Etoa Christophe, University Lecturer appointed, Head of the Division of Planning of Local Development and Cho Ngu Ernest, Senior Administrative Officer appointed Director of Human Resources of Regional and Local Authorities.

The Minister said they have been appointed to join a dynamic and solid team whose mission is to continue to put in place the roadmap of the Ministry of Decentralisation and Local Development that concerns deepening and accelerating the decentralization process in Cameroon in view of attaining optimal local development as prescribed by the Head of State, Paul Biya. Minister Elanga Obam once more reminded them of the missions of the Ministry that hinge on the drawing up, follow-up, putting in place and evaluating government’s policy in the domains of decentralisation, as well as promoting local development. He also indicated what is expected from each of the appointed officials. For them to succeed, the Minister prescribed rigour and professionalism in the exercise of their respective functions, optimal moulding of staff put under them and generation of collective work for the noble goals of decentralization and local development.

 The Minister finally urged them to make a good use of the material and financial resources put at their disposal.
