Agricultural mechanization: CENEEMA begins restructuring.
Bright days lie ahead for workers of the National Centre for Studies and Experimentation in Agricultural Machinery, CENEEMA. The new management on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in Yaounde announced a number of reforms at the end of CENEEMA’S 25th board meeting, led by Board Chair, Abdou Namba. The General Manager, Mrs.Mebande Caroline Melanie, took the minutes.
Speaking to the media after, Ekotto Minkouna Andrée Caroline said management had been given the approval to proceed with staff recruitment. “On July 28, 2020, we will be presenting attestations to over 30 tractor drivers who were recently trained by us. The best amongst them will be recruited by CENEEMA, while the rest will remain on the waiting list or their services proposed to private farmers. Alternatively, they will be deployed when CENEEMA’s field offices in Garoua, Nanga-Eboko and Bambui go operational; and in agricultural mechanization sites”, she announced.
“We will soon embark on the training and recruitment of drivers of heavy-duty earth-moving equipment just like we did for tractor drivers”, Mebande Bate said, adding that implementation of the 2019 presidential decree restructuring CENEEMA was already underway. However, board members postponed the adoption of accounts to a near future date. This is to give room to management to prepare the revised administrative account and management account for the second semester of 2019.
Meanwhile, board members approved new allowances, remuneration and emoluments for the Board Chair, General Manager, directors and CENEEMA staff.
CENEEMA was also authorized to join the National Agricultural Workers and Related Activities Collective Agreement, the Board Chair, Abdou Namba, said in a statement.
