Two die in Kumba after eating fried potatoes!

Two children from the same womb, identified as Ashamo Perry and Ashamo Junior,both 4 and 2 years respectively, died in the Kumba District Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday July 28,2020 after allegedly eating fried Irish potatoes.
Reports hold that these two children were given Irish potatoes on Monday July 27 in the evening and the next day they ate the same potatoes together with their mother and grandmother who prepared the food.
Hospital sources were quoted as saying the first victim died at home in their Kossala residence in Kumba II Sub-Division, while the second victim died in the hospital.
But curiously, the grandmother who prepared the food and equally ate with them is still waxing strong as one could see her running around in the hospital with the rest of her family members.
The sad incident has taken the whole quarter, family members aback.
At press time, the family decided to carry home the dead children.
A similar incident, it should be recalled, occurred in Mbalangi village in Mbonge Sub-Division of Meme Division, where 3 children died after eating Fufu corn, some few years back. In that case though the lady who poisoned the food was immediately arrested.
