Building and housing trade fair:
Economic operators encouraged to register.
Preparations are on the way to ensure that the 6th edition of the Building and Housing Trade Fair code-named “Batimaide” be a success. A planning meeting to this effect took place on the 3 of July 2019 at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Craft (CCIMA) Douala. During the meeting organizers equally evaluated the previous edition which they said was a success.
For the 2019 edition the trade fair will take place in Bonamoussadi unlike in Bonanjo as it has been the case in previous years. The coordinator of Batimaide, Gaston Nemadeu, explained that the change of venue was to make it more accessible to both exhibitors and visitors. He said it was also to bring it closer to the population since it is in the heart of the town. To him this year’s edition will see a more aggressive communication plan as they want the turnout to be huge. He used the opportunity to call on media practitioners to sensitize the population and economic operators about the upcoming event. He announced that the trade fair will run from the 1-10 of November 2019 at MAETUR Gardens in Bonamoussadi-Douala.
To him, the trade fair will also give an opportunity for them to sensitize the population on the importance of using good quality material for building. He called on business operators in the building and housing sector to come out in their numbers and register. The representative of the Algerian Ambassador to Cameroon, Paul Kala, expressed the will of the participation of Algerian business people at the trade fair. He requested that security be stepped up. The Assistant Director for the Promotion of Cooperation at CCIMA, Nzoueto Bachehim, called on economic operators to be confident in the organizers of Batimaide.
