Chief Nasako hails appointment as SNH Board Member

The Paramount Ruler of Lobe town, Ekondo-Titi Sub Division, in the South West Region, His Majesty Fritzgerald Nasako, has expressed gratitude to President Paul Biya for appointing him member of the Board of Directors of the National Hydrocarbons Corporation, SNH.

The 58-year-old, who has held several top positions in the central administration, was appointed on August 21 by presidential decree. The decree specified that he was appointed as a personality designated by the President of the Republic.

“I am indeed overwhelmed and humbled by the privilege given to me by the President of the Republic and Head of State to sit as his representative in the Board of Directors of the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH), which you know, is classified under the first category of State Enterprises,” Chief Nasako told Cameroon Insider after his appointment.

“This special decision of the Head of State is in application of the law of 12th  July 2017 governing State Enterprises and defining their status henceforth on the national landscape. Of course, when the Board shall meet and take this Presidential decision into account, this will be the second time I will feature on this SNH Board,” the Buea Bilingual Grammar School alumnus disclosed. He said it is his wish to work with fellow Board members of the Corporation “in synergy with management to consolidate and sustain the financial performance of SNH as a major pillar of our country’s macroeconomic outlook, resilience and growth.”

Chief Fritzgerald Nasako, an Economics graduate of the University of Yaounde, has held several high government positions. Among other posts of responsibility, he has served as Secretary General of the then Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water Resources; Ministry of State Property, Surveys and Land tenure; and most recently the Ministry Public Contracts. He is a product of the National School of the Administration and Magistracy, ENAM, with specialization in Economics. He is a Superscale Senior Administrative officer by civil service rank.

The National Hydrocarbons Corporation is a public industrial and commercial company with financial autonomy. Created on March 12, 1980 with head office in Yaounde, SNH has the broad mission of managing State interests in the oil and gas sector.
