Mundame village gets new Chief

Kingmakers of Mundame, a village in Kumba III Sub-Division, have presented Esapa Richard Ngoh to the Meme Administration as their new Traditional Ruler.
His Royal Majesty Esapa Richard Ngoh was designated to replace his late uncle,Chief Mukete Paul Ewane who died 4 years ago. The new Chief was presented during a consultative meeting that took place at the Kumba III Sub-Divisional Office on August 27,2020
Chief Esapa Richard Ngoh was presented to the Divisional Officer for Kumba III, David Ngalle Meende, by Ewane William, Head Council of the Mundame Traditional Council. He used the forum to enumerate some worries faced by the village notably bad roads, absence of electricity and medical facilities. He noted that the Cameroon Development Corporation health unit used to serve the community, but ever since the crisis showed it face, the corporation closed its doors. He added that the village has not also benefitted from the lands surrendered by the C.D.C.
In response to their plight, the Divisional Officer for Kumba III, Ngalle Alfred Meende , promised to forward their worries to the appropriate quarters. He congratulated the Mundame Traditional Council on the fluency undertaking by them to present the new Traditional Ruler. The D.O reminded the new Chief to present the documents necessary for his official installation as recommended by decree no 77/249 of 14Th July 1977 bearing the Organisation of Traditional Rulers chiefdoms as amended and supplemented by decree no 82/24 of July 1982.
While decorating the new Traditional Ruler on behalf of the Paramount Ruler of the Balong Tribe, Chief Mukwelle Paul Ngama, Traditional Ruler of Bai-Mukamafend, gave him a traditional cap and a broom. The cap, he said, is symbol of power, while the broom is for peace.
In his closing remarks, the Traditional Ruler was challenged by the D.O to be law-abiding, listen, ensure good leadership with the fear of the Lord, do justice and what is right and above all cause his people to resettle.
The ceremony was attended amongst others by Traditional Rulers, Bafaw Traditional Council, legal minds, friends and the population.
The new Traditional Ruler is a degree holder of Law and Political Science from the University of Dschang. He is married and a father of 3.
