Buea Diocese: CMA provides water for Molyko population.
People living around the Co-Cathedral site in Molyko-Buea now have water flowing in abundance in their area. This is thanks to a project initiated by the Catholic Men Association (CMA) and sponsored by Eloundou Essomba Gaston, Minister of Energy and Water Resources. The water is driven by a 1.5 horse power pump, flows through a 25-diameter pipe and fills a 5000 litre tank. The contractor, Kenneth Awah, indicated that not all the water underneath can be sent out by the pump. Thus, a pump of a higher horse power can still be used and more water can come out to fill even 20 000 litres in a short period and it can serve some 2000 people.
Bishop Michael Miabesue Bibi, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Buea, inaugurated the water scheme on August 29, 2020. He stated that water is very important in every human society and he who brings water brings life. He expressed gratitude to Minister Eloundou Gaston for assisting CMA with the borehole. “This water is available not only for the construction work of CMA Secretariat but for all those living around the Co-Cathedral. The water is open to the public,” the Bishop declared.
The inauguration of the water scheme comes as the CMA National Exco was holding an enlarged meeting at the Saint Charles Lwanga Parish Molyko. The Exco of CMA equally supervised ongoing works at its secretariat which had been halted due to the Coronavirus pandemic threat. In the exco meeting, the group made up of close to 100 men evaluated their spiritual and evangelism activities.
The National President of CMA, Okie Johnson Ndoh, supervised the presentation of five books where they sought a uniform system of prayers and spiritual activities. They also looked into their agricultural projects which are carried out by all the Dioceses. CMA is present in 16 out of 23 Dioceses in Cameroon, counting a membership of over 6000.
