Churchill Monono hands accreditation papers to Ethiopian leader.
Cameroon’s Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Churchill Ewumbue-Monono, has handed his letters of accreditation to the country’s President, giving him the leeway to officially carry out his diplomatic functions .The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary presented the letters accrediting him to the North African nation to its president and ceremonial Head of State, Sahle-work Zewde, in a highly colourful ceremony on October 14th. The ceremony last Wednesday was held one week after the Cameroonian envoy also presented his credential to the President of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat. Monono is Cameroon’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and the Permanent Representative to The African Union.
The senior career diplomat was appointed a week after he had been appointed the Cameroon’s Ambassador and Plenipotentiary to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on August 12th. A week later (August 19th), another presidential decree made him the country’s Permanent Representative to the AU.
The journalist and author was appointed for the Ethiopian mission while he served as Technical Adviser at the Presidency of the Republic. He replaced the late Ambassador Jacques Alfred Ndoumbe Eboule who, for many years was both Cameroon’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and the Permanent Representative to the African Union.
