236 Cameroonians awarded medals
236 Cameroonians awarded medals
Some 236 Cameroonians have been awarded meritorious medals within the framework of the traditional May 20 annual award of distinctions following their services rendered to the nation.
The Governor of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea on behalf of the President of the Republic, decorated the recipients in a ceremony he presided at on October 16, 2020. Of the total medals awarded, 174 were national order of valour medals while 62 were labour medals.
Six persons were decorated Commander of the National Order of Valour by Governor Naseri Paul Biya. Amongst them were the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), Dieudonne Evou Mekou, former Indomitable Lions player who participated in the 1992 World Cup, Michel Kaham, and CRTV’s staff lady Julianna Enanga Kebbi.
A total of 16 Officer of the National Order of Valour medals were awarded with the Yaounde City Mayor, Luc Messi Atangana and Prof. Celestine Ndembiyembe amongst the beneficiaries.
Thirty four Knight of the National Order of Valour medals were equally awarded by Governor Naseri Pail Bea and the Divisional Officers of Mfoundi. Gold, silver and bronze labour medals were equally given to meritorious workers.
The City Mayor of Yaounde, Luc messi atangana, said he was humbled to have been recognized by the authorities. He noted that he would continue to serve the Fatherland in whatever capacity he is assigned to.
Expressing her joy, Enanga Kebbi said she was very happy to have been recognized by the state for her services offered to the nation in the domain of information and communication. She encouraged other Cameroonians serving the country in different capacities to work hard and always remain professional.
All medals were awarded within the framework of the traditional May 20 recognition for services rendered the nation by the Grand Chancellery of National Orders.
