Manyu records highest school attendance since 2018.

Manyu records highest school attendance since 2018.

The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Manyu, UM II Joseph, has visited some schools in the Division. “The number of pupils and students who flooded the classrooms last week, in Upper Bayang, Eyumojock and Mamfe Central Sub Divisions, speaks of a new dawn in the Division,” he said after the visit.

The SDO noted that with the increasing call for children to return to classrooms from different quarters, the number of children in campuses last week in Manyu, has tripled the figures recorded in past years as parents braved the odds to take children to school.

On security measures, the SDO said security has been beefed up to ensure pupils and students feel safe as they go to school.

Assessing the general situation in Manyu Division, the SDO said this achievement is laudable. He attributed the success to the unity of elites and parents of the Division.” We discovered at the onset of the crisis, that if we put ourselves together, we can be impenetrable to the forces of evil. We decided to accommodate each other’s opinion, and seek only for the best way forward for the Division. The work you see us achieve on the field is work realised in synergy,” the SDO revealed. “Schools are expecting more students as the days go by, the two-shift class system is being respected.”

In the various schools where learning effectively began in the Division, students and pupils present were urged to observe COVID-19 barrier measures including social distancing, and the obligatory wearing of protective face masks.
