Visit to Kumba massacre victims: MINAT boss wants collaboration with security forces intensified.

Addressing the population in Kumba Minister Paul Atanga Nji, Minister of Territorial Administration and head of the inter-ministerial delegation said t heir coming to Kumba, was to bring the condolence message of the Head of State President Paul Biya and wife as well as that of the Prime Minister to the bereaved families. He recalled that their mission was to evaluate the gruesome murder of some young students by separatist fighters that took place on Saturday October 24, 2020. He stressed that the government will not relent in its efforts until the culprits are brought to took, emphasizing that no terrorist group has ever been supported anywhere in the world. He called on the population to collaborate with administrative authorities, Security Forces, by denouncing them whenever they see them around because one day the terrorists will also turn against them. He reiterated t he Head of States message to those who are in the bushes to drop their guns and come out and join the DDR Centres.

Atanga Nji noted that even in the dark ages nobody had ever beheaded or slaughtered his or her brother and not to talk of this kind of barbaric killing of children from the ages of 9 to 12. He called on the population to gather courage, shun fear and send their children back to school.

For her part, the Minister of Secondary Education, Professor Nalova Lyonga, said that we must love ourselves so that in the case of such attacks, people should be able to report immediately to the Forces of Law and Order. She condemned what happened to Kumba on Saturday. She advised that whosoever is creating a school should follow the law and that all schools must be legalized. She called on school authorities to respect the school weeks and avoid schooling on Saturdays. Though we are mourning, the Minister said, schools should go on. She was corroborated by the Minister of Basic Education, Professor Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa.

The inter-ministerial team later on held a security meeting with administrative authorities and security officials before paying visit to the affected victims at the Kumba District Hospital and on the sidelines of the visit condoled with the affected families.
