West Regional Pedagogic Inspector murdered in Bamenda.

The body of Dr. Keafon Luciano Sunjo has been deposited in a mortuary in Bamenda. The corpse was discovered early Wednesday October 28th at Mbefi quarter in Nkwen, Bamenda III, North West region of Cameroon.

According to a communique signed by the minister of communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi on 28 October, “an active search is underway in order to arrest the perpetrators of the murder of another member of the educational community”.

Sadi extended “the heart-felt condolences of the Head of State”, “as well as the deepest empathy of the entire Nation”, to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, an inhabitant of Bamenda writing to Mimi Mefo Info said his supposed assailants “… took him from his house at about 7:30 pm on Tuesday. They tied him on a motorcycle, riding to their camp.”

He adds that “… unfortunately on their way, they had an accident along the road and the bike fell. At that point, Dr. Keafon attempted to run. It’s then that the boys shot him and he died”.

Another inhabitant of Mbefi quarter confirmed allegations that his kidnappers and murderers were separatist fighters “… Those boys killed him. This needs to be condemned”, he said.

Dr. Keafon Luciano Sunjo was the regional pedagogic inspector for the West Region of Cameroon. He is reported to have travelled to Bamenda to visit his family when he was killed.
