JCI Bamenda Royal gets new President.

By GEORGE Etoh Anzah in Bamenda.

Pascal Che Ngeng is the new president of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bamenda royal.

The association’s main mission is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. With this therefore local organizers obtain a 1-year term of office through a democratic process which will see them: empower youths into developing awareness and acceptance of the responsibilities of citizenship, encourage individual participation in internal training programs to develop leadership potentials, active participation of individuals in community development and furtherance of understanding, goodwill and cooperation among all peoples.

All in all the United Nations recognised institution aims at making youths "better versions of themselves".

Holding at the conference hall of the Ayaba hotel, the 10 delegates designated a man whom they hold at high esteem to carry the affairs of the institution for the next 1 year. At the close Pascal Che Ngeng polled 7 as against 3 for Yves Ngeng making him an overall favourite.

Speaking to The Horizon he affirms: "...been given the command baton ...it will be all hands on deck, no one young person will be left behind, we will surmount all challenges and emerge victorious". He adds"..to succeed in society train educated people as such I shall embark on a mass education campaign as a way forward. He further  argues that "...for every society trains educated people and not clever thieves, we shall empower youths with great potentials, it’s true the present crisis may have played a mayhem but we still have resilient youths and with such around we shall emerge".

According to Emmanuel Babila, national president of JCI Cameroon " I urge the new president to continually address the plight of youths in this community and provide opportunity which will help them impact positive change in their geographical milieu.

For his part, the regional delegate for youth affairs and civic education, Nimpa Bonaventure, urged the youths to stand by their chosen president so he can deliver the goods within the 12 months time span

“As an eye of the government and father of youths in the region I pledge to play my role in supporting the youths in all their goals to enable them succeed in their development strides. Youths within the Cameroon context and Bamenda in particular continue to undergo untold hardship with projects either unfinanced or little exposure to development opportunities. It’s therefore expected this new bureau will meet up with the needed demands to ensure a better opportunity filled society”, Nimpa said.

As per the custom the JCI Bamenda royal chain of command was transferred to its new president as he took the oath of office before other 26 new members attending for their first time.
