Audit Board of Indonesia humbles itself to learn from Cameroon’s CONSUPE.

By Fonban Emmanuel.

The Audit Board of Indonesia and the Secretariat of the Association of South East Asian Nations Supreme Audit Institutions known by its acronym ASEANSAI, were on Monday 15, July 2019 received by the Minister at Presidency in charge of Supreme State Audit, Justice Rose Mbah Acha Fomundam. This took place in her cabinet, wherein she received the delegation from ASEAN in a double capacity as Minister at the Presidency in charge of Supreme State Audit and as the Secretary General of the African Organizations of Supreme Audit Institutions known by its acronym AFROSAI.

The visit was not just a come-and-see but a come-and-learn from the experiences in auditing especially in cases of multinational cooperation.

“It is a great pleasure to be here especially for Indonesia. Indonesia is the Secretariat of ASEANSAI. So we are here to strengthen the cooperation between ASEANSAI and AFROSAI. We tried to see possibilities of making some cooperation in auditing in the public sector”, said Prof Bahrullah Akbar, the Vice President of ASEANSAI, who headed the delegation.

It is important to note that accompanying Prof Bahrullah, were; Wahyudi who is the Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Margareta Puput Kumiawati of the ASEANSAI Secretariat.

The working visit of the Indonesian and ASEANSAI delegations was motivated by the cooperation Audit in Lake Chad which included more than four countries and other works that AFROSAI have successfully done under the administration of Justice Rose Mbah Acha at the General Secretariat.

“They came for the relationship between these two Associations and also to have a relationship between Indonesia and Cameroon. What really impressed them is that AFROSAI under our management is carrying out so many audits” , said Justice Mbah Acha Rose.

The Minister added that strengthening cooperation deals between Cameroon and Indonesia would open more grounds for cooperation and exchange of skills and competences. It is therefore important to know that the ASEANSAI delegation came to learn from doing cooperation works as well as establish new relations between Cameroon and Indonesia and also between AFROSAI and Indonesia.
