Vindicated over futility of option to divide Cameroon.

In my early write-ups when the political crisis started in the English regions of Cameroon, I categorically said despite the legitimacy of the grievances, the option to divide Cameroon was wrong and futile. I said even after 100 years, this won't happen and some people in their naivety treated me funny. I used two criteria to hold on my prisms I considered determinant in opting for a political stake of this magnitude.

The first was the diplomatic dimension in which I said this. Nigeria as the main neighbour will not push or support this move. It's like encouraging the division of Nigeria in the nearest future with the Biafra secession and considering the almost 2000km of border shared, it was suicidal for Nigeria to support this whether formally or not. State divide must consider the position and impact of such a move on neighbouring countries and the most determinant vis-a-vis the country in question.

Still in line with diplomacy, the permanent members of the Security Council who enjoy from the present status quo can't vote for any attack on Cameroon sovereignty or divide. They are benefiting and eating well from the present Cameroon. The UN can't thus vote any resolution for an intervention in Cameroon. Above all, I said the American embassy in Cameroon covers the entire central Africa. Of which gain can America influence the divide of Cameroon? In this light, the position of the UN, AU, Francophonie, EU Commonwealth etc was clear. I held the Cameroon diplomacy was bigger than what people think and did everything to make the conflict an internal conflict consequently heightening State sovereignty in dealing with it.

From a military and strategic dimension, we said war is an art. You need a kind of buffer zone from which military hostilities and coordination is geared. You don't station forces and fight on the same territory you want to take. The so- called ground zero fighters can not map the entire limits with La Republique. The sense of projection is necessary. You don't fight a war in your house. Zones of influence and glacis in war arts explain this logic. You need military expertise, resources and means to materialize this which the so-called ground zero fighters don't have.

Today after 3 years of killing ourselves, we call for school resumption under the Cameroon government obviously. It simply implies we don't know why we were fighting. The so-called interim government is dilapidating and the famous ring leaders say ground zero fighters are foolish and stupid. Dying for people like them who give them chicken change, sleep on good beds with 99% chance to come occupy positions if the dream was to come true. While their chances not to die and occupy a position is even almost zero not to say zero.

If school resumption remains our option today, it's time everyone turns his/her back from the few guys in bushes denying life from others because of their egoistic and selfish benefits they're making from the so-called struggle.

We can't preach school resumption and sympathize with uncontrolled fighters in bushes. A society without education is a jungle. A society with rich people and no education is a jungle. The stability and balance any society needs to exist must see education at the forefront. Education and a job are two parallel lines. Social mobility and social security necessary for any society to be worth living and develop depends on education.

You don't need an atomic bomb to best destroy any society. Drop the level of education or deny schools to function. You'll spend nothing to completely annihilate such a society. It dies a Natural death. The consequences of this 3 years of madness are still to be known.

Let schools resume, to start checking this hell we've brought on ourselves.
