Gov’t makes official statement on whereabouts of Mancho Bibixy, others.
The government of Cameroon has made an official statement on the whereabouts of some Anglophone detainees who were transferred from the Kondengui Central Prison and Buea Central Prison from where uproars occurred, Monday July 22 and Tuesday July 23, 2019, respectively.
Many detainees were transferred from these detention facilities to unknown destinations and news of the brutal killings of some top English-speaking activists who were held at the Kondengui Central Prison had spread like wild fire.
Mancho Bibixy, leader of the Coffin Revolution, was one of those alleged to have been killed and this caused Sisiku Ayuk Tabe, Ambazonian leader, to announce a hunger strike for all Anglophone detainees should they continue to be left in the lurch about their whereabouts. It is probably based on these threats that Rene Emmanuel Sadi, minister of communication, tweeted to set the records straight.
In a tweet, Tuesday July 30, 2019, he said Mancho Bibixy is alive. ‘Munity at the Kondengui Central Prison Cameroon; False allegations on the death of Mr. Mancho Bibixy Che. The aforementioned, spotted among the 177 leaders, is doing well just like the other fellow insurgent inmates held in remand for investigation”, the statement says.
This statement is coming only after a strong declaration from the separatist leaders but government is yet to mention their exact location.
