Who killed commercial bike-rider in Bamenda?
Lifting of curfew said to have aggravated insecurity!
By Etoh Anzah George in Bamenda
The recent lifting by the North West governor of restrictions to movements in the region appears to have done little to curb insecurity. A bike-rider, popularly known as Ivo who plies his trade the Mobile Nkwen and Banja Street junction area of the Bamenda 3 municipality met his Waterloo on the night of Monday 29th July. Ivo is alleged to have been confronted by military men and shot on the leg and later pulled for about 20 meters before being shot on the head a few meters into Cow Street. It is a few meters from this point of death that PM Dion Ngute stood to coach the North West and Bamenda city dwellers to consider a quit on ghost towns, shun fear and resume schools as to himĀ measures had been put to ascertain a dialogue on the ongoing crisis which for a while now has been a malaise on the population. This same vicinity harboured a human head few weeks back. After investigations, the beheaded victim was proved to be a teacher of GBHS Nitop1. This same arena played host to a stray bullet that picked and squeezed life out of a civilian who happens to be the owner of a popular bar by name Black and White.
Since the lifting of the curfew by North West Governor, many were right when they said they fear it is a gate way to further insecurity. With no slippers or shoes found on his feet coupled with a candle found on his chest it is probably justice to conclude that armed men have continued to wreak havoc with civilians being targets..Worse still, other sources say Ivo was not at work and only came by the road to buy the candle which was to serve as a lighting mechanism owing to total black-outs witnessed in parts of the Mile 2,Banjah street and Mile 4 quarters but sadly this will be the light on his grave on the day of his burial.
