Can Tataw & Bareta ‘cleanse’ the rudderless revolution?

Survey says revolutionary ideas of ‘empowering Ground Zero’ advocated by both activists have rekindled hope in ‘journey to Buea’.

The offer by the Swiss government to mediate between the Cameroon government and Anglophone separatists for a resolution of the Anglophone crisis; the sustained campaign for back-to-school in the strife-torn North West and South West regions; and reports of ‘donor fatigue’ over a rudderless revolution, may have dampened hopes for the Anglophone struggle. But the emergence of some ‘Young Turks’ intent on giving it some direction appears to have rekindled hope that the ‘journey to Buea’ is still attainable.

Eric Tataw and Mark Bareta who are publishers of pro-Ambazonia media outlets have become the new faces behind the revolution. Both activists are clamouring for the empowerment of those acting in self-defence of the territory of the putative state of Ambazonia because the leaders in the Diaspora have failed.

While the former wants the resignation of Dr Sako-led Interim Government so that detained Sisiku Ayuk Tabe and co can continue in diplomatic moves towards restoration of independence, the latter wants a dissolution of the IG in favour of devolution of power to the 13 counties found in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.

Tataw has accused the Sako-led government of embezzlement of over 400 million FCFA raised from donors for financing of the revolution with only peanuts getting to the Ambazonia fighters. He said this lack of transparency in management of funds he contributed immensely to sourcing has made donors lose interest in Anglophone struggle. His campaign for the cleansing of the leadership has registered several adherents who are now convinced that Sako and his government were working for their self interest and so must go.

For his part, Bareta, in his latest video, has called on the counties in Anglophone Cameroon to organize themselves and take over the revolution because the formation of an Interim Government was a mistake. He wished that scales dropped from the eyes of those on Ground Zero to the lies told them by the Diaspora who are feeding fat on their sweat. Mark Bareta advocated the creation of a Military Council on Ground Zero to govern the revolution while those in the Diaspora embarked on diplomacy. He said they could finance the revolution, not through kidnappings for ransom, but by taxing households for a token and companies operating in their counties.

Bareta seized the opportunity to apologise for the lies they of the Diaspora had been telling Anglophones back home.

The revolutionary ideas of these two activists have seen them riding the crest of a wave of popularity. Going by reactions online, a good percentage of Anglophones consider them as the real apostles of truth, men of character; even “the cleansers of the revolution.”

But since one man’s meat is another man’s poison, they also have detractors. Some of them, recruited mostly from among the factions of the Ambazonia fighters created by Diaspora leaders, accuse them of washing the dirty linen of the revolution in public through their ‘cleansing rhetoric’.

Following are the proposals of Eric Tataw:

I wasn’t just all over the place when I talked about Ayaba; I was dotted everywhere. You clapped! Today, you run a factory that defends lies! 480.000.000 embezzled while 13000 people who would have naturally defended themselves died because what they needed ended in pockets in America and Europe.

This alone warrants anyone of good judgment, moral uprightness; those who have empathy not just sympathy for all these boys fighting with naked hands and den guns to be all over the place! Forgive my approach but at least admit that there’s only one person who needs a vacation here.

For more than fifty years, we watched how Biya appointed surrogates who became Demi-gods in our communities and their children and families looked untouchable.

We’re yet to build our country! Yet, people are skillfully defending leaders with a peacock degree of corruption and casting seekers of truths.

I’m convinced; I’m doing the right thing. If we must work together, we must take away the worms. Ask those you defend to categorically state their; diplomatic, media, humanitarian and military successes.

When I say state; I mean one by one. Brothers, don’t we all think that it’s about time we had a review of what exactly our over one million dollars has achieved before we can start a new phase of donations and give the Revolution a new face?

These are the real debates we should be having other than suggestions of vacations to people when we truly are the ones who need them. Look at what has been given to the refugees, IDPs, etc!

My spirit is lifted at the fact that since my last shows, pointing out on vital and key aspects, neither those accused nor their surrogates and groupies have taken off time to notice that they’re yet to make any defense on the issues I’ve raised.

Resorting to sabotage or making sarcastic statements like Eric Tataw needs a vacation or lying about my previous Facebook accounts has only proven to me beyond doubts that I’m speaking the unbeatable, unbearable truths.

We’ve thirteen counties; Bui, Lebialem, Kupe M., Momo, Fako, Manyu, Meme, Mezam, Donga Mantung, Ndian, Boyo, Ngoketunjia and Menchum. With these, it’s easy to do a simple assessment on the MTTB success.

I challenge any Ambazonian from these counties to show us what level of military engagement our MTTB account brought into their communities for self-defense.

Brothers and sisters, all this was embezzled. Some people used it to buy shares in Marijuana markets, others invested it in Bitcoins and many others still have thousand of dollars in special accounts.

I had explained to Dr Sako the need to highlight to us some members of his team who managed huge sums. But he desperately protected them. Tabeyang did same. They all claimed these accounts were confidential.

Where are we today? Donors are glamouring for answers before they would resume donations; yet, all what we see from surrogates is that MTTB wasn’t embezzled.

Let me pretend to agree with them that it wasn’t embezzled. If that be the case, it means counties and their heads would have testified of the possibility of at least a meagre measure of impact they felt.

But as we can all see, most counties didn’t receive more than $10000 ( approximately 6 million). We’re talking about four hundred and eighty million under Sako’s mandate.

Dr Sako personally signed out $100000 (approximately 60.000.000) sixty million to a strange deal that is over 14 months now and nothing to talk about. Would it be wrong if a critical mind said Sako turned back and collected his share from that deal???

His ‘righteousness’ right hand man Bishop John is another signatory to the deal that has lasted more than fourteen months and according to them; it’s classified.

Brothers and sisters, some time ago, a certain FIFA Bank in Mamfe embezzled hard earned savings of peasants and businessmen alike.

If that Bank were to continue operating in Mamfe, what would be the first step for share and stakeholders to reinstate customers’ trust??? I’m sure your answer is as honest as mine.

The Ministry Of Public Health of LR wasn’t stupid to have sacked the Director of the Douala Hospital from the Monique Koumate incident.

Brothers and sisters of Ambazonia, this isn’t about politics. This isn’t about who you love. It’s about a Revolution. We all know that we need money to fight this war and presently, we don’t have anything except for those in the pockets of a few members in Sako’s team; most of them still hanging in there like old wine in a new bottle.

Go to Facebook and look at even those who comment in support of this embezzlement. Take time to click on their profiles. These are pure manufactured ghosts managed by same people with our money in their pockets. What do they want to achieve??? Change public opinion. But unfortunately, it hasn’t worked.

No man would save his money in a bank still served by a former manager during whose era millions disappeared. I apologize to Dr Sako if I’ve been hard on him but the truth remains in these my recommendations;

1) Dr Sako should resign honorably.

2) 13 County heads should appoint a leader to take over in Dr Sako’s place.

3) Leadership in jail should pass suggestions through the new head of County heads

4) New head of County heads should work on an all-inclusive reconciliation with all frontline leaders and activists

5) Create a unitary account with all thirteen County heads as board members.

6) Create a diplomatic team for power diplomacy.
