Gov’t publishes list of Eseka train victims.
At least 744 persons were injured during the Eseka train accident that occurred in 2016, the Government of Cameroon has said.
The figures are revealed in a recent document published by the Secretary General at the Prime Minister’s Office, Seraphin Magloire Fouda, on Friday August 2.
According to the communiqué from the Prime Minister’s Office, the victims can start consulting the list at the Prime Minister’s Office on August 9.
It should be recalled that the train accident that occurred in Eseka on October 16 left at least 79 persons dead, according to official figures.
The Head of State later ordered for investigations to be opened into the accident and that appropriate measures be taken for such not to repeat itself again.
Since then families of victims have dragged Camrail, the company involved in the accident, to court. The government had disbursed over a billion FCFA as compensation for victims.
