Livanda Chief undertakes evaluation tour.
After one year on the stool, the Chief of the Livanda village in Limbe, Motia Mathias Motia, has been making rounds recently of quarters within his chiefdom to acquaint himself and his Councillors with their problems and find means to solve them.
The Chief has so far visited four out of nine quarters within his chiefdom. Livanda village which has a geometric population growth, particularly with the influx of the internally displaced persons, has a population of about 9000 inhabitants and the problems of the quarters are similar, ranging from lack of good roads, poor electricity supply and potable water, insecurity and lack of health centres.
According to Chief Motia Mathias, the evaluation tour has been prompted by his need to know and understand the problems faced by his quarter heads and their challenges so that together they can find solutions to them.
Stating that these problems need to be identified and solved, the Chief said he has five more quarters to cover and disclosed that some actions had been taken to solve some of these problems. He appealed to the administration to facilitate the functioning of the health centre earmarked for Livanda village.
Chief Motia Mathias reiterated the need to step up vigilante groups through motivation and the revival of the chiefdom’s cultural values. He stressed on the improvement of sanitation and the need for inhabitations to keep good toilets and stated that he would personally make sure that bad toilets are destroyed. He also announced a competition for the cleanest quarter.
