Momo SDO buries mom.

Considered as strong, energetic, domineering, persuasive and generous owing to her unique taste and ingredients, Mama Tapita Nzele Ngome added to life’s situations. "Mami D.O", as she was fondly called, shocked many as her once rock-solid strength was short circuited. Long life in post colonial Africa has always been attributed to blessings and significantly going above 90 years is considered even the most blessed thing many don't see. Even though she attained a ripe age, her six children still felt greatly grieved by what they considered the painful exit of Mama Tapita Nzele Ngome. Tributes from them made allusion to the biblical meaning of her name, Tapita (gift from GOD).

She started her education at home and in 1948 was enrolled into the vernacular school in Ngombo-Aku where she studied the Duala language along side the Holy Bible. The year 1950 marked her completion of the vernacular school. Next, she got enrolled into RCM Basem, Nkombo Aku where she did Standard 1 and 2. Her dream of pursuing education was cut short child-bearing. Mama Tapita became a fulfilled mother as she invested great time in her seeds who became the reason for her earning of the nickname, Mami D.O. She got this title when two of her sons were appointed by a presidential decree on same day as Divisional officers. Indeed, the bitter pill is yet to be swallowed by one of her sons, Absalom Monono Woloa whose level-headedness in his administrative role in Momo Division has paid off positively. To him, " I find it difficult to write in few paragraphs about your life,your impact to our lives and society......Though coming from a modest family, God blessed you and made you succeed in engraving your name in gold not only on the tablets of your family and community ,but to the Cameroon nation. You shall always be remembered. "

To her seed it’s sad to imagine she is gone but as great thinkers put it "the best way of moving on in bad circumstances is accepting the results of things you can’t change".

It should be recalled that on July 10th 2019 she was quoted to have said she is en route to meet her maker and was indeed so happy about it. She further had taken out time to make peace as she requested to be forgiven by all she had offended.

Speaking at Mama DO’s funeral service at PC Tombel, Rev Eyakwe Joseph exhorted the mourners to remember life’s journey is short and as such should live in unity with all. The same vicinity later swallowed her mortal remains.

She leaves behind 6 children, 2 brothers, and 23 grandchildren to mourn her.
