Who is funding the Fons in their Peace Crusade?

In the wake of excesses in the ongoing Anglophone plight, many have tipped traditional rulers as part of the peace and reconciliation plan. Considered as administrators and many being civil servants thanks to their complete reclassification process they owe the regime their loyalty coupled with its daunting sacrifices. Lately, these men who are custodians to tradition are said to be on a move to preach peace in Cameroon’s restive regions.

Interestingly reading inside the book of experience, for a ruler to move, dispositions must be put in place. Sadly, these days, owing to the spate of violence, confrontation and threats, these rulers have become so insignificant to the extent that most of them have even been chased out of their palaces for betraying their people. Others have flouted tradition by shaking hands even with women (for Grassfield Fons).

With all these in consideration, the recent declaration of a peace crusade by these Fons has brought many asking questions as to who the actual financers of this campaign may be. Good to know the main peace hunter is neither the irregular Boko Haram terrorist sect, the Ambazonia fighters but of course the state and whether or not she is funding this campaign is yet unknown. Of course if someone is funding the campaign good and fine but when one considers the level of disunity that reigns amongst these fons on regional as well as national fronts there are therefore doubts as to whether or not these leaders will unanimously unite in the peace hunt. Interestingly too, preaching peace is reinstating justice and dialogue for the English-speaking regions and more buoyantly addressing the plight of the suffering masses on the national front.

A great man once said to have a hungry man’s attention to your bread "show him the flour". In the present context it will mean setting a basic mechanism and organigram for a way forward and the peace move will be saluted. Consequently the gazette therefore seeks to ask how some of these Fons will preach peace without reaching their own Fondoms or better still end in the towns .Will it not be better if they try to reinstate themselves on their thrones and then speak peaceably to their people, thereby rebuilding trust or better still, for those outside West Cameroon, will they not leave political leanings and unite in a bid to move their so much sung peace ahead? It should be recalled Jesus said "take away the log from your eyes and you will be able to see well to remove the dust from your brother’s eyes". Let them not forget there exist a log to be cleared for the dust to be blown out.
