24 Hours after Sissiku and Co life-jail, Amba Boys shut down Bamenda; military allegedly kill 1.

The incarceration of Sissiku Ayuk and Co was already a forgone conclusion, given the gravity of their charges and the irreparable harm their advocacy had caused the state. As the news of their condemnation to life jail rent the airwaves, separatist advocates imposed a lock down in an avenging medium. Caught offguard by the short notice in which the lock down ultimatum was given , Bamenda city dwellers were seen running helter-skelter at the sound of gunshots to enforce the lockdown. Gun shots were heard simultaneously at about 10:15 am at the hospital round about, food market, Ntarinkon, Alakuma, Mile 6 quarters with civilians caught between uncertainty as to where to flee to. The resultant outcome was the shutting down of the Bamenda 2 municipality with the main market, food market. At Ntarinkon market, vendors were temporarily shut in the market by the market attendants. Circulation came to a stand still till military intervened to do away with the barricades used by Ambazonia fighters to halt movement.
To show that they were in control, separatist fighters burned down a commercial motor bike .To make worse the situation, eye witness accounts say Meh Evaristus, a carpenter at the End-of-Tar Longla junction was shot by the regular state security forces. Evaristus, as reported, heard the shots and like every sensitive and unarmed civilian took to his heels behind his carpentry shop which harbors a tree where he was pursued and shot. Bullet traces could be seen to have destroyed louvres and penetrated the walls of a nearby vicinity where his corpse lay. His wife who came minutes later was bewildered. Meanwhile sympathizers around had covered the corpse with leaves pending the family's claiming of the corpse for onward preservation and or burial.
To many city dwellers the jail sentence will further hamper the dialogue process as many say it is a proof of bad faith and no intentions by government for an inclusive dialogue.
