Back-to-school: Tubah receives push.

The event at the premises of CCAST Bambui featured some 450 children rushing at short notice for some 200 available school equipment, summed up in school bags, exercise books and more from the Ministry of Territorial Administration. The gifts were most welcome by beneficiaries with preparedness to resume schools, but the threat remained evident. Among the lot were pupils and students from nursery, primary, secondary and high schools in the Tubah Sub Divisional villages of Bambili, Kedjom-Keku, Kedjom-Ketungoh and Bambui.

On duty to deliver the equipment, Prof. Peter Abety, an educationist and political leader of the area, inspired education stakeholders in Tubah to help matters for children to return to schools for the learning and teaching process during the 2019/2020 academic year. He saluted enthusiasm showcased by beneficiaries and committed to mobilize other elite of the subdivision to return with more equipment to serve the needs of some 450 children that filed out without being enrolled. Prof. Peter Abety had warm words for students of the neighbourhood, University of Bamenda who have kept education alive in Tubah Subdivision in the face of the socio-political and security crisis rocking the entire North West Region. They equally deserve encouragement and Prof. Peter Abety stated the government’s commitment to continue to give all those thirsty for education a chance.

Curtains dropped on the event with Prof. Peter Abety stressing that children’s education is a right that must not be debated. Tubah D.O, Garga Alim, was around with the blessings of the administration that is working hard to ensure that the education of the nation’s youths is not taken hostage by the crisis in the North West and South West Regions.
