Life-jail for Ayuk Tabe and co: Appeal filed with 5 million fee paid!

The appeal against the life-jail sentence slammed on Sissiku Ayuk Tabe and nine others by the Yaounde Military Tribunal is now complete after the sum of 5 million FCFA demanded as one of the requirements to endorse the appeal was paid yesterday.

A acknowledgement receipt to this effect was signed yesterday by marine officer, Mebenga Joachim, at the Yaounde Appeal Court.

A team of seven seasoned lawyers had sat up the previous night to draft the appeal due filing on 9 September.

They were ShuShe-ey Joseph Akuwiyadze Esq., Fru Joseph Awah Esq., Tifila Orchard Nkeng Esq.,Nso Hans Nsoyuni Kong Esq., Amungwa Nicodemus Tanyi Esq., Ayukotang Ndep Nkongho Esq., and Berinyuy Hedwig Shidzeka.

The court had received the appeal of the separatist leaders filed by their lawyers, but gave the lawyers 15 days to pay the FCFA 5 million, or the appeal would not be entertained by the court.

It remains open to dispute if with the payment the judgment that would be delivered by the appeal court would favour the separatist leaders.
