University of Buea: Appointed officials take servic.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea (UB) Ngomo Horace Manga (PhD) on Tuesday September 10, 2019, installed newly appointed officials of the institution following a Presidential Decree N° 2019/446 of 27 August 2019. The officials are the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Teaching, Professionalisation and Development of Information and Communication Technologies, Prof. Atembong Nol Tanyi; Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Research, Cooperation and Relations with the Business World, Prof. Ndip Lucy Mande Ayamba; Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Internal Control and Evaluation, Prof. Ayonghe Samuel Ndonwi; and the Registrar, Prof. Molua Ernest Lytia. Other officials included Deans of Faculties of Arts, Health Science, Science, Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine and the Director of Students Affairs.
Installing the officials, Ngomo Horace Manga (PhD), said that to better adapt public institutions to meet present and future challenges, it is normal for government to effect changes on its human and material resources to achieve the expected results. That the present changes will continue to keep UB on its triple mission of teaching, research and outreach activities. He was confident that the officials would bring their long-standing experience to better UB. For social peace and stability to continue to reign on campus, he tasked them to ensure dialogue in the university milieu. “You must act in your daily functions as much as possible in a way that is capable of not distracting the University from its sacred mission,” he told the officials.
The academic profiles of those installed, read during the occasion, showed academia well-schooled with very rich professional experiences. Their input in Universities at home and abroad, research work and books written among others drew thunderous applause from the crowd. The ceremony at the Dorothy Limunga Njeuma Amphitheatre (Amphi 750) had in attendance former Vice Chancellors, traditional rulers, cultural groups, among others.
