New Bamenda Regional Hospital Director takes Command.

By Etoh Anzah George in Bamenda.

Reports long circulated on social media to which administrative heads of some hospitals across the national territory were transferred .Amongst these appointments was that of Denis Nsame previously serving in a similar capacity in Limbe now charged with the daunting role of giving Bamenda Regional Hospital the face lift it has hitherto seen.

Chairing the ceremony that took place at the conference hall of the institution, Dr Kingsley Che Soh , regional delegate for public health, exhorted the newly appointed health official to uphold truth and selfless efforts in the discharge of his duties. He listed amongst many the Haemodialysis unit of the hospital which to him needs vital attention.

Talking to the press, the newly installed Dr Nsame said: "Taking over this prestigious position at such a delicate moment owing to my over 21 years rich capacity and experience, I think the aspirations are quite high". He further said:"I will at this juncture express my profound gratitude to Dr Kinge Thompson Njie who has in a great way done the works seen so far. I have received a long list of aspirations from my boss (the regional delegate) and I want to say we shall collectively ascertain these objectives are realised. On this subject therefore how do we go about it ? We shall continue to be as neutral and impartial as we can in the discharge of our duties so that collectively we can meet up with our expectations.”

As Kinge Thompson leaves the regional hospital, many have hinted The Horizon the usual cankerworm of petition writing remains the basis for his transfer. This allegation they say is justified by a series of demands made by officials on terms (confidential) which are aimed at benefitting the petitioner.

His successor has the arduous task of addressing ills of the hospital like lack-lustre staff whose sluggishness resulted in the death of some patients, the poor nature of wards, poor and nasty toilets, and inadequate staff.
