CONSUPE trains some of its ministerial inspectors on auditing.

The Supreme State Audit last week, Monday, 7 October 2019 organised a training workshop to equip some inspectors of ministerial departments with skills. This took place at the training hall of the Ministry under the theme, “Audit Methodology and Techniques”.
The workshop was presided over by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Supreme State Audit, Mbah Acha Rose, and took place at the second block of the Ministry.
Participants of the workshop were service inspectors of ministerial departments who received the training that ran from the 7 to the 11 of October 2019.
The workshop came as an initiative to enhance the ministerial mission of mentoring, pedagogic and methodological support to the administrative control in the internal audit structures of CONSUPE in the domain of control and audit management of public funds.
The Minister highlighted the capital role of the Inspectors in controls and mentoring while stating the need for the workshop.
“We have realised that when they come up with reports the reports are supposed to be sent to CONSUPE’s budgetary and disciplinary board for sanctions of vote holders who are faulty. We realised that at times CONSUPE is unable to exploit these results because they don’t know what to do behind the stage,” said Rose MbahAcha.
She further said the inspectors are internal auditors and CONSUPE is the external auditor. To the Minister, equipping the internal auditors will help CONSUPE to carry out its task as an external auditor with ease. Their effort, however, is to assist the ministerial departments to which they have been sent and this can only be efficient if they acquire the right skills.
With the workshop, it is therefore expected that the inspectors will be equipped with adequate skills to execute their own task successfully while making work easy for CONSUPE as an external audit institution.
