Appointment of SDOs, DOs: More women get on board.
The key peculiarity in the recent appointments of new Inspectors General, Secretaries General, Senior Divisional Officers and Sub Divisional Officers is the the upsurge in the number of women to serve as civil administrators. Two more women have been appointed to join the other peers as Senior Divisional Officers. Among them is Antionette Zongo Nyambone, now new SDO for Mefou-and-Akono in the Centre Region, while Rachel Ngazang Akono has been appointed SDO for the Kadey Division in the East Region. Meanwhile, 15 women have also been appointed Sub Divisional Officers across the country. Five Divisions of the restive North West Region have new SDOs. Among the newly appointed SDOs, Harry Languy Ngangyi who has been Secretary General at the North West Governor’s Office heads to his native Bui.
Meanwhile, the Senior Civil administrator, Abdoulahi Aliou, formerly Sub Divisional Officer at Nkong-ni, has been promoted to SDO. He is the new SDO for the Menchum Division.
For his part, the former Senior Divisional Officer for Bui, Simon Mooh Emile, has been transferred to Mezam to serve in the same capacity. The Sub Divisional Officer for Mbengwi Central Sub Division in Momo, Benoit Fouda Etaba Nicaise, has been promoted to SDO in the same Division. Finally, Senior Civil Administrator, Quetong Handerson Kongeh has been transferred from the Vallee du Ntem Division to Ngoketunjia in the North West Region. For the South West, the former Sub Divisional Officer for Douala One, Jean-Marie Tchakui Noundie, has been promoted to the rank of SDO. He will take over leadership of the Kupe-Muanenguba Division. Likewise, William Mungambo Ekema has been upgraded from Sub Divisional Officer to Senior Divisional Officer. He moves from Melong Sub Division to Lebialem in the South West Region. In a separate release, five new Secretaries General have been appointed in the Centre, East, Far North, North West and West Governors’ offices. The Adamawa, Far North, North West, South and South West now have new Inspectors General. These appointments came barely 72 hours after the MajorNational Dialogue rounded off, with a major recommendation for the North West and South West Regions to be accorded Special Status.
