Limbe Coconut Island poised to be the cleanest.

Limbe Coconut Island poised to be the cleanest.

Due to the shortage of refuse bins, Coconut Island in Limbe has now decided to place refuse cans within the quarter for easy disposal and removal. Chief Ndumbe Eyum Sama, quarter head, revealed June 5 when we contacted him on the clean campaign day.

Chief Ndumbe Eyum was thankful to Limbe I Council for rehabilitating quarter roads, which is why the quarter inhabitants were all out to clear debris from the drainage around the quarter to enable free flow of surface run off when it rains.

The chief was pleased that many people turned up for the clean-up campaign which enabled the clean-up of gutters, filling of pot holes and clearing refuge in the quarter. On this note, Ndumbe Eyum warned that sanitary defaulters will face the wrath of his council. He was pleased that three culverts have been provided by Limbe1 Council to pre-empt overflow of rain water but frowned at the existence of the lone HYSACAM refuge bin very close to the public tap which the authorities of the company clear at their will. It is unhealthy, he said.

Ndumbe Eyum also expressed thanks to the Limbe City Council for providing his quarter with three stand taps and CAMWATER for using their tanker to provide water to his quarter. He called on all quarter heads who own houses around the quarter particularly by road side to present their site plans for inspection.
