Government spoils Misaje /Nkambe vigilante Groups (4 photos of handover by NW governor).

Donga-Mantung Division is considered one of the divisions least hit by the Anglophone crisis partly due to the work of vigilante groups who have kept separatists at bay.

In recognition of the efforts of these groups in Misaje and Nkambe, they were showered with gadgets intended to ramp up their efficiency against armed groups endangering the peace.

Adolphe Lele Lafrique, North West governor, used the Donga-Mantung lap of the installation of the SDO to spoil them with gifts ranging from motorcycles (trade mark Sanya), registers, solar lamps, rain suits, boots, mega phones, metal detectors, whistles amongst others. The gifts first donated to groups in Misaje, he insisted, were special donations from the head of state through the ministry of territorial administration in recognition of their ever brave efforts and remarkable work in denouncing rebels whom he said have hitherto been at the forefront of diverse sufferings upon the peoples of the North West region. He urged them to make proper and diligent use of the materials so the continuous security of all remains on a maximal amplitude.

Mbgata Sammy Nformeka, mayor of the Misaje Council, noted: "Misaje was among the only 3 councils in the NWR which voted and won the council for the CPDM. Since then the municipality remains the unflinching bastion of CPDM and one of the most peaceful in the North West region.” He however didn’t fail to recount some challenges which were "growing hatred of the people for being anti - separatist, loss of property, schools and destruction of Ala`-Nkanchi sub chiefdoms.

On human loss he regretted the deaths of 2 vigilante group members, Mr Laban Emmanuel Bulu and Mr Angong Henry Bijia. On this note, he added, while the Nkambe vigilante group can easily inform or report to the forces of law and order on the activities of separatists, those of Misaje do the arrest themselves before submitting to the gendarmes for commensurate punishment. He thus hinted this has exposed them to diverse forms of attacks on festive days. He therefore proposed the imperative reinsertion of a BIR detachment and a military detatchment. The mayor said it was also necessary to make the public security post at Chunghe Village currently existing only on paper functional. Also suggested was the creation of a frontier police post in Sabongida Village for the sake of cracking down lawless traders and people from neighbouring Nigeria.

In Nkambe town, it was a traditional display that welcomed the region’s number one administrative authority as he took out time to remind the attendees of government’s role in ending the crisis amongst which is the convening of a major national dialogue.

Considering that for over a long while the people have continually been living black-outs, the regional delegate for MINEPAT told the masses of the impending rehabilitation of electricity.

Adolphe Lele in like manner urged them to be peace-building and above all discharge their duties in strict respect of the laid down principles. Ardos and Christians alike who saluted the gestures same like the vigilante geoups and the population hinted The Horizon: "The initiative is laudable. It’s inportant we don’t disappoint the governor and state by continuing to maintain security. With these gifts we will stop at nothing to ensure our set down task is achieved.”

The trip of the governor was by and large successful but setbacks were noticed in Takijah area in Bui as Lele made his return. Before now detonation was witnessed around the Bambili hills as Lele was still on his virgin move.
